Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department

Introduction:

The Public Health & Municipal Engineering Department is under administrative control of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department at the Secretariat level.

The Department is in charge of Investigation, Designs, and Execution of Water Supply and Sewerage Schemes in all the Municipalities in the state and Municipal Corporations besides the Technical Control over all the Engineering works in these Municipal Towns and Corporations.

After completion, the Water Supply and Sewerage Schemes are being handed over to the concerned Municipal Corporations and Municipalities for operation and maintenance.

MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING WORKS:

PH & ME Department offers the following services to the ULBs

1. Approval of designs of Municipal works.
2. Technical sanction to estimates.
3. Technical opinion to the Municipalities in finalization of tenders.
4. Check measurement of works executed by the Municipal Engineers grade II & III.
5. Periodical inspection of water supply and sewerage schemes maintained by Municipality.

Activities:

1.      MISSION BHAGIRATHA (URBAN):

This schemeis Proposed for augmentation/ improvement of drinking water facility in the KamareddyMunicipality. Under the Scheme an amount of Rs.10.12 crores have been sanctioned for laying of pipeline for 29.704 kms and constructions of 2 Nos of 1000 KLELSRs and 6488 Nos of Tap connections.Work is in progress.

2.      TUFIDC GRANTS:

          a) Kamareddy Municipality:

Phase – 1: Under this Grant 25.00 crores has been sanctioned for 15 different type of Development activities/works s in Kamareddy municipality like Development of Parks, roadjunctions, laying of CC road and CC drains and Auditorium, Development of modern market and Vaikuntadhamam and central medians in various wards of Municipality.In this 3 works are completed ,7 works are in progress and 5 are yet to start.

Phase – 2: Under this Grant 20.00 crores has been sanctioned for 03 different type of Development activities/works s in Kamareddy municipality like providing central median on old NH-7 Highway and development of park and extension of culvert at Nizamsagar In this 2 works are completed ,1 work is in progress.

            b) Yellareddy Municipality:

Phase – 1:  Under this Grant 4.40 crores has been sanctioned for 03 different type of Development activities/works s in Yellareddy municipality like Development of children Park,construction of Central median and providing the central lighting In this 1 work is in progress and 2 are yet to start.

            c) Banswada Municipality:

Phase – 1:  Under this Grant 25.00 crores has been sanctioned for 07 different type of Development activities/works s in Banswada municipality like laying of CC road and CC drains and providing central lighting with median and procurement of vehicles of sanitation works.In this 4 works are completed ,3 works are in progress.
